Richard Williams is a versatile composer whose music encompasses epic orchestral scores, intimate piano pieces, and high-energy cinematic pop. He has composed and conducted with world-class musicians in Budapest and Prague, as well as at legendary Hollywood studios including Sony, Fox, and Capitol Studios.

     While studying at Brigham Young University, Richard won two Student Emmys at the College Television Awards for his animated film scores (2010 & 2014). He later composed music for the audiobook soundtrack to Brandon Sanderson’s fantasy novel The Way of Kings and became a founding member of the cinematic pop band TREN, who has amassed over a million streams on Spotify, and whose projects include music for Tencent’s PUBG MOBILE and author Sariah Wilson’s novel Moonstruck.

     Richard’s work spans across short films, animations, recording artists, video games, and YouTube stars with projects reaching millions of views. His video game credits include Rise of the Gunters, a VR experience based on Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One. He has been a finalist in both the Unsigned Only Music Competition and the International Songwriting Competition (ISC), received two Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) nominations, and was selected twice as a Fellow for the LA Film Conducting Intensive, where he studied with renowned orchestrators Conrad Pope and Bill Ross.

 

     His debut album, Hollywood Christmas, celebrates timeless Christmas big band jazz and orchestral music inspired by legends such as Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé, and The Carpenters.
